From a 386 to Internet 3.0 . . .
. . . Scott Kneefel Provides an Optimal Web Solution for Business Owners
It all started with a Compaq Deskpro 386. “Which PC World,” Scott states, “rates as one of the 25 greatest PC’s of all time!”.
“I had to have one,” Scott Kneefel says of the unit he bought in 1993. “I had no idea how I was going to use it for my start up business! I bought it the first chance I got because I had to have it, and then taught myself how to use it to run my business.”
Scott’s passion for applying nascent computing technology to business helped him build his own company. It eventually led to a series of other jobs in business development and operations management. And finally, it inspired him to launch Optimo Web Solutions, whose mission is to “simplify the Internet era” by connecting small business owners with elegantly simple web-based solutions.
In Scott’s view, today’s Internet “Is more than just a place to promote products and services. The Internet is becoming a platform that can be used to operate a business.”
This belief comes after 18 years watching Internet technology evolve. “I realized that my relationship with the Internet was no longer about just website hosting and email. It was no longer about just reading what others published about products and services.”
“I noticed an increase of cost effective web-based solutions for business operations.”
“I began participating and collaborating in various online forums for support.”
And that’s where Optimo Web Solutions comes in.
Optimo combines online solutions, with bundled on-demand services, into a highly customizable, affordable package. It’s a website. It’s a content management system. It offers on-demand services – non-proprietary software programs that include word processing, spreadsheets, collaboration sites and presentation tools – that allow business owners on a budget to whittle down start-up costs.
“Our solution means you don’t need to invest in software, licensing and networks and pay for ongoing IT support . . . all the things that are small business killers. It means your laptop won’t become obsolete in a short period of time because the software you’re using is hosted online . . . it’s on-demand.”
“It means you and your team members can travel anywhere, connect anywhere, and still have access to your work product . . . because it all ‘lives’ in cyberspace. It means all you need to connect is a computer and internet connection. You don’t need a jump drive. You don’t even need to exchange email – your collaboration is online, spontaneous, immediate.”
“It’s also a green solution,” Scott adds. “Think of it. If all we need is a computer with an efficient browser, and access to the Internet, you won’t need to keep up with the software and hardware “rat race” . . . it reduces e-waste from hitting the landfills.”
